SCENE 1 · TAKE 1 · SUBMISSIONS OPEN

You write the story. Strangers become it. Nobody's ever in the same room.

Submit a short story. If it's chosen, a real cast is found for it — and every one of them films their own scene alone, on their own phone, without ever meeting the others. Cut together, it becomes a real short film, released on my YouTube channel.

WHAT THIS IS

Confessional-cast filmmaking.

Every film here is built entirely out of solo, self-recorded confessionals — cast members talking straight to their own camera, never appearing in the same shot, never in the same room as anyone else in the story. No set. No crew. No budget required from you.

You bring the idea. If it's chosen, I write out exactly what each character needs to say, cast real people to play them, and cut their footage together into a finished short — published under your name as the writer.

HOW IT WORKS

Four scenes, start to finish.

01Submit

You send the premise.

A short story idea, the characters in it, and what kind of film it should feel like — comedy, drama, thriller, whatever fits. That's the whole ask.

02Casting

If it's chosen, casting opens.

A casting call goes out for the characters in your story. Real people apply to play them — strangers who'll each shoot their part alone, on their own phone.

03The Packet

Each cast member gets their own direction.

Not a full script — a private packet built just for their character: who they are, what to say, and sample lines to work from. Nobody sees anyone else's.

04Wrap

It gets cut together and released on YouTube.

Every confessional comes back to me, gets edited into one film, and goes out publicly on my YouTube channel. Both the writer and every cast member are credited in the video's description.

What a submission actually looks like.

An example — this isn't a real open submission, just what the shape of one looks like.

SAMPLE SUBMISSION — FOR REFERENCE ONLY
COMEDY / MOCKUMENTARY
"A doctor moves to a small town and starts a new practice looking for patients, but everyone who applies is a flat earther, and he's way in over his head dealing with all of these funny and wild people."
Dr. Alan Whitfield
The new town doctor, overwhelmed and increasingly exasperated
Marge Calloway
First patient, insists her headaches are from "curvature denial"
Denny Ruiz
Second patient, wants a note excusing him from "space agency propaganda"

Two ways in.
